The internet told women to be more relatable. It was wrong.
Show notes
Everyone is talking about authenticity.
Show more behind the scenes. Be more relatable. Open up more. Share your struggles.
But what if the entire conversation is based on the wrong assumption?
In this episode, Ramona challenges one of the biggest marketing narratives of 2026 and explains why authenticity has quietly been confused with relatability.
She explores why AI is making genuine human connection more valuable than ever, why premium brands don't need to overshare to build trust, and why the strongest brands create anticipation instead of unlimited access.
If you've ever felt pressure to become "more relatable" even though it never felt like you, this episode will completely change the way you think about connection, branding and buying psychology.
Inside this episode:
- Why authenticity and relatability are not the same thing
- How AI is changing what people value in brands
- Why premium brands don't build trust through oversharing
- The psychology behind emotional connection
- Why anticipation is more powerful than visibility
- How to create a brand people genuinely look forward to experiencing
- The difference between documenting your life and directing perception

00:00:02: We all love that sound.
00:00:05: But what we love even more is when it becomes the standard clean, consistent every single day without losing yourself in a business That looks successful on the outside but feels empty inside.
00:00:19: This isn't about building something profitable that drains you.
00:00:22: this Is About Building Something That Lasts With full body conviction, with presence.
00:00:29: This is exactly where I belong energy by architecting a brand that holds Kalt status A Brand That Works For You even when you're not pushing posting or proving a brand doesn't convince it commands.
00:00:44: Welcome to kalt status the podcast for global coaching leaders and creative visionaries that turn their brands into cult-like companies.
00:00:53: i'm Ramona Ochsenbauer Creative director, brand architect and the woman behind cult-like productions in cinematic brands that turn attention into obsession.
00:01:03: You're not here to play safe.
00:01:05: you are not here for compromises!
00:01:07: Your'e hereto build a world people want to belong too And to write the rules as u go.
00:01:14: So fasten your seat belt because this is where Brands start being content and start becoming culture.
00:01:24: I was planning to record this podcast episode for so long already, and i'm so excited to do it today.
00:01:32: Because since the beginning of twenty-twenty six there is a topic that Even like it's the most talked about topic, that has the most influence on how people and especially women sell.
00:01:50: How they show up?
00:01:55: authenticity conversation.
00:01:57: With the start of twenty-twenty six, this topic came up on a bigger level.
00:02:02: it was always a topic but it became vogue more or less.
00:02:06: It became the topic where everything wrapped around.
00:02:10: so things like The Yap Challenge Things Like people getting more relatable in the content, showing more of their humanness.
00:02:18: All these are based on this authenticity conversation and it is no surprise that this was a topic came up early in twenty-twenty six and still on top of mind today because an era where AI is everywhere when people start to create content.
00:02:37: with Claude, with JetGPT were entire teams not are replaced, but supported by AI systems.
00:02:47: There's one thing that becomes less which is human touch and the human brain.
00:02:56: when we think about things happening in history The human brain always values most of what exists the less.
00:03:07: So why is gold so valuable?
00:03:10: Why is the gold price so high compared to soil for example?
00:03:16: because when we would compare those two things, soil is where vegetables, where fruits, where plants can grow and soil as life but it's much cheaper than gold!
00:03:31: Why?!
00:03:32: Because there exists more soil then there exists gold.
00:03:38: So for the human brain, it's a simple equation.
00:03:42: Gold is more valuable than soil because they exist less gold on this planet.
00:03:48: so the more AI comes into industries ,the more AI come in to spaces .
00:03:55: The more the human behavior.. the human thinking... way of thinking .. the human touch ... the human Brain becomes valuable.
00:04:06: And this is what the entire conversation around authenticity, it's not about being authentic or not because being authentic IS THE BASELINE!
00:04:18: It shouldn't be the goal β it should be the baseline but NOT in the definition an entire industry came up with where I was misunderstood and misinterpreted as being relatable.
00:04:30: Being Authentic doesn't equal being relatable.
00:04:34: The definition of authenticity is that Authenticity is the quality of being real, true and genuine.
00:04:43: It means an object document or statement Is what it claims to be And not a copy or a fake.
00:04:50: when applied To person it meets living and acting in A way That matches your own True values and beliefs Rather than copying others.
00:05:03: That's the definition of authenticity, not about copying others but what matches your own true well use and beliefs.
00:05:11: And in an industry or a world where people try to give authenticity wouldn't make sense anymore.
00:05:24: And this is why, because the definition makes sense!
00:05:27: It doesn't make to give authenticity being authentic a certain look and
00:05:33: feel.".
00:05:49: Being authentic is nothing that can look the same for every single person, because then everything would be exactly the exact same.
00:05:57: It doesn't make sense!
00:05:59: So what's this entire conversation actually about?
00:06:03: It's not about being yourself⦠it' s NOT about someone who looks like she was herself.
00:06:11: That's bullshit!
00:06:13: it's a conversation about connection, because this is exactly what people crave right now more than anything else.
00:06:20: It IS connection!
00:06:21: Because the rise of AI using AI having these things like AI generated content, AI generated photos, AI-generated videos... What is the result?
00:06:35: Separation and we already had that.
00:06:39: People in their human brain once The thing.
00:06:42: that is rare.
00:06:44: And in a world where more and more AI generated things enter the marketplace, Enter the internet What's becoming rarer?
00:06:54: Connection between humans.
00:06:57: This what people want now.
00:06:59: The connection relationship with humans.
00:07:03: There are so many ways to build connections than just I am just like you.
00:07:12: Oh, i'm so relatable!
00:07:14: Ooh...I don't have all together as well.
00:07:17: Oh..i'm crying on the internet.
00:07:19: Oh ..im airing my dirty laundry.
00:07:20: Oh ...im talking about other people.
00:07:22: Bah bah bah bah.
00:07:25: There are SO many more sophisticated ways More premium way more high-end ways.
00:07:31: there are SO MANY MORE WAYS THAT FIT YOU Because when you listen to the CultStatus podcast, I know that YOU have zero interest in crying or airing your dirty laundry on the internet.
00:07:46: That you don't want to base your entire marketing around talking about other people?
00:07:52: May it be something good about others' people and may this be bad for them but as long as their whole marketing is based It's not about you, it's not your brand.
00:08:05: It is always about other people and you are lifting up yourself based on what others do which isn't a movement or leadership And definitely not the way to connect with another person.
00:08:18: You want that connection but through your vision Not from crying bashing on other people and telling people, oh this is also what I experienced when the entire comment section is about complaining.
00:08:32: Oh these are so bad!
00:08:34: We've all seen those kind of
00:08:36: posts.".
00:08:37: This isn't what you want for your brand because there's always like a negative touch or vibe where it's something that feels off.
00:08:47: You don't want to be connected with negative things even when it's just quote-unquote talking negative about other people.
00:08:55: And this is exactly the point where I want to draw back authenticity, because at that moment you would do something like talk about others' opinions as they know what brings your attention and the moment you put on make up in an Instagram Live just because we've seen from another person and these are authentic.
00:09:14: When will start crying online?
00:09:18: even though you don't want to have that part of your brand.
00:09:22: Just because people labeled it as being authentic, It wouldn't be true!
00:09:27: It wouldn' t be authentic for YOU because remember the definition of authenticity.
00:09:33: It's living and acting in a way that matches your own true values & beliefs rather than copying others.
00:09:43: So if you're a woman who is just not relatable whose life is everything, but not normal.
00:09:52: Who IS delusional?
00:09:53: who is a leader at heart?
00:09:55: Who allows other people to follow her... Not because you give them the permission too!
00:10:01: But because of things that YOU do they are able to follow you.
00:10:06: Because you're such a bad-ass leader.
00:10:09: It's NOT about making yourself more relatable.
00:10:12: IT'S NOT ABOUT giving THEM the feeling Oh, I am just like you.
00:10:19: Because people don't follow people that are just like them because why should they?
00:10:24: And you still want to build that connection
00:10:27: right?!
00:10:28: So of being authentic for YOU it's not.
00:10:31: oh i'm just like YOU!
00:10:33: I'M JUST HAVING A HARD LIFE AS YOU!
00:10:35: OH I'M GOING TO THE TOILET AS WELL.
00:10:38: But if being authentic is being a badass leader... BEING THE WOMAN Who goes first?
00:10:46: who is delusional, who does a logical thing so has illogical results.
00:10:53: then building that connection won't happen just because you start to yep.
00:11:00: Then it's not about becoming more relatable than It's not About watering down your brand and getting more messy vibes into your feet adding in more selfies instead of amazing brand shoots.
00:11:14: you did in the past and will do in future.
00:11:17: Then it's about asking, how can I build that connection?
00:11:22: How can i stop being obsessed with showing more!
00:11:26: With BEING MORE relatable!
00:11:29: With SHOWING MORE OF MY HUMANNESS!
00:11:31: Showing people THAT I JUST AM A EMOTIONAL HUMAN BEING AS THEM Just like them and start asking whether you're creating anticipation when it comes to your offers, or launches for a brand.
00:11:46: Because connection isn't built through unlimited access.
00:11:51: It is not.
00:11:52: Imagine all the people that feel connected too Most of times Not the people You have unlimited access to.
00:12:05: You feel connected to people who tell a story, Who have something you love too much to observe.
00:12:18: Because it's built through emotion It's build for the story.
00:12:22: Connection is filled with tension.
00:12:25: It's built from giving people reason To wonder what happens next.
00:12:31: And this is the difference between documenting your life, becoming more relatable.
00:12:37: Showing people that you're just as human as them and therefore accidentally creating a reality TV show?
00:12:45: I don't talk about high-end reality TV shows which actually can be a thing!
00:12:51: But what are realty TV shows?
00:12:52: where we watch and there comes to point when ask yourself why am i watching it?
00:13:00: This is nothing that makes me feel good.
00:13:04: this Is something that entertains, yes But it's Nothing That Makes Me Grow!
00:13:10: This is Nothing That Make Me Expand and Directing Perception.
00:13:15: where people are interested in the brand Where they Are Interested In Who They Become While Spending Time with That Woman With The Brand Inside That World And One Makes People Consume.
00:13:31: As I already said, it's entertaining.
00:13:33: It's like oh there is something to watch.
00:13:36: Oh!
00:13:36: There are some gossip.
00:13:38: Did you see that?
00:13:41: And the other makes people anticipate and anticipation is what sells because this is missing for so many women right now in their business this exact frame of creating anticipation so that people get to feel who they become while spending time with your brand, which then results in momentum and sales.
00:14:11: I locked myself for two weeks Not to teach you how to become louder or more vulnerable, just like them.
00:14:26: More visible in terms of oh I'm going viral because what i am posting is so relatable But to help you create the kind of launches people were already looking forward to before you ever opened the card, because this is what true anticipation is.
00:14:45: I put you a link in the Cinematic Launch Playbook which is currently at eleven dollars which is insane into The Show Notes.
00:14:53: Click on that link and check it out!
00:14:56: And start creating connection βthe thing where people crave now more than ever in the most cinematic and high-end way that attracts premium buyers because this is actually the level they want to connect on with you.
